I experienced first this technical issue that caused double postings of transactions for clients who opted to pay bills online. I immediately went to the bank and they fixed the error immediately. The mistakenly drawn funds were returned and overdraft charge.
I can tell you when my wife called and said that a three dollar purchase was declined I about had a stroke. I then pulled up my account and saw our mortgage payment was paid twice (ouch). My wife
thought she might have hit the enter button twice. Thankfully it wasn't caused by anything we did.
This just goes to show you that you need to act immediately when an anomoly like this occurs.
